Bay Grove Montessori School, located off 331-S in Freeport, Florida, is searching for an individual to join our small but growing Montessori school in the capacity of Floating Lunchtime Support and Lead Aftercare Personnel. This person will serve in a classroom and administrative support capacity, and will play a significant role maintaining the safety and well-being of the children.
The primary duties for a floating assistant teacher are to assist lead teachers in either the Children’s House (ages 3-5) or Elementary Classroom (grades 1-3). This may be directly supporting instruction of the entire classroom, or leading pull-out groups.
The lead aftercare coordinator responsible for helping our school administrator secure guest-instructors, as well as lead and participate in the Aftercare Enrichment Program to ensure that school policies and procedures related to child safety and the Montessori learning approach are followed.
This individual must be willing to adhere to the philosophy and method established by Maria Montessori and embraced by Bay Grove Montessori School. The ideal candidate is responsible, energetic, organized, and comfortable outdoors with experience with or good knowledge of Montessori education.

Hours: ~30 hours/week, between hours of 11:30am to 5:30pm.
Pay: $16/hour. School holidays less than 5 days duration are paid holidays.

Duties, include but are not limited to:
- Monitor guest-instructor applications and background check information
- Create Aftercare Enrichment Program scheduling calendar
- Create and maintain aftercare student attendance sheets
- Communicate with families about program calendar and student activities
- Supervising children in the classroom, extended care, and play yard.
- Order and prepare enrichment activity materials
- Assist Guest Instructors during implementation of enrichment activity
- Oversee daily activities, including, snack, movement, outdoor time, gardening, distance learning recording, follow-up work, reading, and arts and crafts.
- Observing and responding to children's needs, emergencies, and conflicts that may occur while they are at the school.
- Assisting lead teacher in establishing rules and behavioral expectations.

Education
- At least 18 years of age
- Associates Degree or higher in education or related field
- DCF Staff Credential
- Infant/Child First-Aid, AED, & Epi-Pen Certified
- Fire Extinguisher Training (provided by Bay Grove)
- Level-2 Background Check (provided by Bay Grove)
- Universal Precautions/Exposure Plan (provided by Bay Grove)
- Blood Bourne Pathogen Training (provided by Bay Grove)
