Flu Vaccine Available at Health Department

[FONT=&quot][/FONT][FONT=&quot]The Walton County Health Department is offering seasonal flu vaccine on a walk-in basis at the Coastal Branch facility every Wednesday in October and at the DeFuniak Springs facility every Thursday in October. Vaccines are also available by appointment during regular business hours.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]The fee for each flu vaccine is $33 and fees are due at time of service. You may be eligible for a reduced rate based on family household income. Limited supplies of free vaccine are available for children through 18 years of age. Medicare and other insurances will be filed as applicable; insurance cards must be presented at time of service. [/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Everyone six months of age and older should get a yearly flu vaccine. Ample supplies of influenza vaccine are now available. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for your body to develop an immune response. In the United States, influenza season usually begins in October and can last until May. [/FONT]
