While driving on 98 near Publix Grand Blvd. I rescued a digital camera from the eastbound traffic lane. It is a Samsung 7.2 megapixel Smart Touch digital camera in a black Denali camera case. Unfortunately someone ran it over and the camera itself is destroyed. I would like to return it to it's owner because the 1 gig. memory card has hundreds of photos (many tell the story of a boy growing from baby to toddler.) and if they were mine I would want them back. From the most recent pictures it appears that the people are here on vacation. I'm not sure how to go about locating them. I debated posting a couple of pics and blurring out faces but am not sure if that is ok. Please pm me if the camera belongs to you or you know who the owner is. I would also appreciate ideas on how to locate the rightful owner.

put something on Facebook...ad in the Sun; note to the TDC and maybe they could put a note to the companies who rent vacation properties...

I would be heartbroken if I lost my memory card...good of you to try and locate the owners.

Could you suggest where to post on facebook? I checked for a lost and found page but came up with nothing for this area.

I contacted the TDC. The Walton Sun wants $28 for a lost and found ad. I don't have extra cash right now. Any other suggestions?

maybe some posters around the area where you found it...that seems to work for lost cats and puppies:D

it may be that whomever lost it was just passing through...and won't know they've lost it until they are far away from here...

hope not; and that they are actively looking for it.

look for the Beaches of South Walton page...not sure it's for lost and found, but maybe you can post anyway.

Sooner or later they will find this thread. I added the type of camera to the title. If it has some beach photos on it or any other photos with houses or condos in the background we can probably identify the place. I don't see any problem with posting a few. You might want to send me your phone number just in case. We can keep the card also if you like.
