My cousin has opened a produce stand on Alabama Hwy 84 at the county line between Opp and the Perry Store community. I realize this is quite a distance from Sowal but he has a great selection of organics. Many people near his business used to drive to Fl Publix, Fresh Market etc. but now can get these items locally. His selection is (so far) better than the ones at Publix. The organics come from Atlanta (that area seems to get the best) and are delivered weekly. He now has all fruits, salad, etc. but will have organic meats Wednesday. The traditional produce is extensive as well. Peas, butterbeans, eggplant, squash, tomatoes, large SWEET watermelons, boiled peanuts (the good ones, not the big ones) and on and on. I know many who live in North Florida who take the shortcut from Florala to Kinston etc. This business would be about 5-10 minutes off that path. Bring a cooler and load up.
