Generator repair needed...anyone know a referral for a small engine specialist.

I tried to crank the generator this evening without success. Relatively unused generator wont crank and I need someone mechanically inclined to give it a look see. I bought it back in 2004 during the summer of Ivan but really haven't used/cranked it since then. Hoping its something easy to fix. Any referrals would be greatly appreciated.

Try this to get your generator going:
Remove all the old gas
Fill it up with fresh gas
Change the spark plugs
Good chance it will start for you

After several experiences like yours, I've found this to be what's needed:
1-Add a fuel preservative to your generator gas. Don't buy a lot of gas for it, just a half a gallon or so.
2-Set yourself up a schedule and start it every month. Let it run for at least half an hour each time.
3-Refill with fresh gas (with preservative) after running. Not something you've had sitting in the shed for 6 months or a year.
