Thanks for posting this. I have bought gift cards that are good at several restaurants before, just earlier this year as a matter of fact in a Walgreens. They are kept hanging on a display that is away from the cashier and register. Never thought about them taking the time to write down the numbers off of a card and accompanying phone number so they can call and check the balance. But I would think that would be something that people would notice in a store like that. And that is not something you can do very quickly if you are doing several cards at one time. But people are pretty bold nowadays. Especially in this city.
