Canadian musician and co-founders of animal rescue group, Ladybird Animal Sanctuary, head south this December to share their music for the good of animals in need. Melissa McClelland, Janine Stoll and Lisa Winn are award-winning, critically acclaimed singer/songwriters from Canada who toured together and released a live recording under the name “Ladybird Sideshow.”

While in Florida, the Ladybirds will work with Laurie Hood, director of Alaqua Animal Refuge, to gain knowledge on the successful operation of the shelter. “We look forward to learning from the best at Alaqua, and sharing our music in return. We plan on taking some of that Florida warmth back with us to Canada to help more animals in need.” says Melissa McClelland. www.MelissaMcclelland.com

Tickets are $20 at www.AlaquaAnimalRefuge.org. The concert is presented by Rosemary Beach Foundation and sponsored by Cultural Arts Alliance and Rosemary Beach Property Owners’ Association. Proceeds benefit Alaqua Animal Refuge.

This show at Rosemary Beach looks like a good one and one we're looking forward to. We love live music in SoWal and it's a treat when we get musicians of quality traveling to our area.

This Friday at 7:30pm at the Rosemary Beach Town Hall join us as we welcome Canadian musicians and co-founders of the animal rescue group Ladybird Animal Sanctuary. They'll be sharing their music for the benefit of animals in need.
Melissa McClelland, Janine Stoll and Lisa Winn are award-winning, critically acclaimed singer/songwriters from Canada. Members of the group have their own individual bands, and have toured with the likes of Sara McLachlan, even winning the prestigious 'Album of the Year' award in Canada.

They've toured together and released a live recording under the name “Ladybird Sideshow.” A rare folk music performance, each will showcase her own unique songs, while the other Ladybirds add lush harmonies.

Artists Melissa, Janine and Lisa will share their music and while in town they will be touring Alaqua and working with Laurie Hood to learn about our beautiful animal refuge. They are helping animals in need at their own refuge in Ontario, Ladybird Animal Sanctuary.

In 2001, 4 little songbirds found each other in the downtown bustle of Toronto. Janine Stoll, Lisa Winn,Melissa McClelland and Erin Smith, all singer/songwriters in their own right came together for the next five years to record, tour and sing the most lovely four part harmonies this side of the Skyway Bridge. Eventually each bird went their own way, the fourth bird Erin flying all the way to Maui to live the life of a beach goddess. The friendship was left strong and intact and the three remaining birds have come together once again to launch the Ladybird Animal Sanctuary. Inspired by a deep love for animals and for each other, Melissa, Janine and Lisa have made a life long pact to uphold the Ladybird Animal Sanctuary as a safe haven for dogs and cats in need.
