When Palin’s memoir, “Going Rogue: An American Life,” hits bookstores on Nov. 17, it will face competition from OR Books’ “Going Rouge: An American Nightmare,” being released the same day.
The anti-Palin book, compiled by Richard Kim and Betsy Reed, senior editors at the left-leaning The Nation magazine, claims to offer up “the real Palin.”
Though the cover of “Going Rouge” is clearly a parody of Palin’s memoir, the book is not, the editors say, pointing to the caliber of writers included in it. Among the book’s contributors are Hanna Rosin, contributing editor at The Atlantic; historian Rick Perlstein; iconic feminist Gloria Steinem and former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich.

I don't like Palin and I think she handled the entire situation poorly, but she is certainly FAR above Levi - who is celebrating his condomless sex w/ a pistacio commercial and posing for Playgirl.

Or more specifically- I am afraid of the masses of folks who believe she should be POTUS...While at this juncture in time, I don't support her for president, how can you say you are afraid of the masses who support her for president when you consider the "masses" that continue to elect many who have no use for our present form of government and would gladly socialize every aspect of our being. On the other hand, Palin literally dragged teenagers Bristol and Levi onto a national stage solely for her own best interests, with zero regard for how it would impact their lives for years to come. That was the first POS move in my opinion.
I don't care how politically talented she was, Lynnie is right -- Palin had plenty of years ahead of her. She could have been highly effective in the next election cycle if she had just waited and decided NOT to toss her daughter under the bus. But she didn't. And that told me EVERYTHING I needed to know about her. She either doesn't have an ounce of empathy, or has no good sense. Or both.
That said, Levi's 15 minutes were up awhile ago. :roll: Bristol's tell-all will be the interesting one. But it is years away. I feel so bad for her, still.

I will say that it's disheartening to see someone rewarded financially as a result of their failings. This applies to Levi as well.

And again -- poor Bristol! Playgirl is actually using Levi to RELAUNCH its dead-tree edition, and David Gergen estimates Palin will ultimately stand to earn $10 million between book sales and speaking fees. And Bristol is at home on the compound, covered in spitup. I would be so incredibly angry. I hope that she is getting some payola - she deserves it. It likely has strings attached.

It has NOTHING to do with left or right but EVERYTHING to do with the fact that she is not qualified to run for office and don't think for one second that running in 2012 is not her goal here. That's how I see it anyway for what its worth.
