Dune Allen Beach
Is anyone familiar with a rental called Gothic Cottage & Carriage House in the Calypso neighborhood in Dune Allen? It's adjacent SRB Golf Course.

Or the Log Cabins on Deer Lake that rent with boats you can use to get to the beach.

Hoping someone has some info on either of these. Thanks!

I think you may mean the country cabins on Camp Creek Lake (down from Deer Lake). They really are like mountain cabins perched on the lake overlooking the lake and dunes. The one I've been in was very nice. A short boat ride to the beach.

There are some on the north side of 30-A and some on the south side. The northside cabins may not have a view of the gulf.

That's them (thanks for the pic). The ones I ran across for rent must be south of 30-A because they mention a gulf view.

How's the walking distance to the beach from South-side cabins?

The ones on the north side could have a gulf view but it wouldn't be nearly as good as the south side. I'm not postitive but they may not have walking access because they are bordered by WaterSound. Most people probably walk through WaterSound which would make it a long walk.

I am not familiar with that specific cottage, but we have stayed in the Calyspo Pointe neighborhood. We loved the privacy of the neigborhood, and our rental there was one of the nicest ones we've ever stayed in. You are back from the beach quite a bit. The neighborhood itself is not right on 30A, it's set back a little. Regardless, it's not a long walk, just not as convenient as being on the south side of 30A. But, unless your house is tall, you'll have no view. Hope this helps!

Thanks Kurt and Peapod and WhiteSands.

The cabins look very interesting, but the Dune Allen place is so close to where we need to be to work on cleaning our siding. Gonna be testing that JOMAX soon! :rotfl:

Looks like Thanksgiving now instead of the dreaded month of October. Guess we just got lucky with that scheduling.
