Saw this in another thread from Grayton Beach Neighborhood Association and figured it needed its own thread...

Walton County has embarked on the new shuttle station that will be located in the large parking lot just north of Grayton and across from the Mystic Porte retail/restaurant area. This station will anchor the Grayton shuttle and will also serve as a central hub for an east west shuttle that will go to Blue Mountain and Gulf Place (to the west) and the State Park, WaterColor and Seaside (to the east).

Thanks for passing this on, Jim. Do you know where we can find more info? There have been all sorts of rumors about what the county was planning to do with that property. Shuttle service to Blue Mountain is a new one to me.

I'm still shocked that they shut down so much public parking in Grayton Beach. I doubt it makes much difference in traffic becuase it is a constant parade of vehicles looking for parking anyway.

I don't mind that it is a much different feel, but handing it over to businesses to utilize for free seems a touch problematic....

I guess some residents bought the idea that less parking would mean less traffic.

It is less traffic. I spent the majority of this weekend and the endless bumper to bumper slow rotation looking for parking is gone.
