I actually like some frozen fries, like crinkles for instance. But the coated variety polluting menus on 30-A are repulsive. See Whisky Bravo, Grayton Seafood Co. Those places should care enough to not serve frozen food. They might as well put up signs reading "We do not care whether you enjoy eating here, we're just a tourist trap."

These aren't fast food joints so it does seem to suggest they really don't care about quality.

Hand cut always best but there are some excellent frozen ones served in restaurants without that horrible starchy coating.

Some of the local restaurants serving coated fries offer other great sides so that's what I go with when i visit. Who has the best fries at the beach or anywhere?

I like frozen crinkle cut fries if they're done right, but also like really good handcut fries like 5 Guys or the former Preacher's Kitchen that used to be in Grand Isle in Seagrove. I probably like the fries better than the burgers at both of those places.
