Heat pump failures

Be care when you leave unit on while away ( it's a catch 22). Left for two weeks upon return found
The A/C which was on set at 78 had failed and auto switched to heat mode. Estimate maybe 10-14 days steady heat ( in Sowal in August ). Heat could have reach 110+ since 5 candles where melted and drained to the floor. Several cans of soft drinks had exploded one literally rip its on to off. Two toilet seals melted upstairs and upon
Me unknownly flushing them they both leaked on
The down stairs ceiling. Now I have 2 holes cut in the ceiling a 2 DeHumidifiers and 4 fans blowing
To dry out. Plummer on call to replace toilet seals
Then ceiling repairs. One tv melted. Therms sat
Melted. Big mess!!! FYI google says candles melt at between 125-200 degrees.

That's a nightmare. ....go to straight cool and heat strips...much simpler and the compressor will last much longer.

Get a Nest thermostat (there are others as well) so that you can check and change the temperature settings in your home remotely. Hubby installed one in our house at the beach.

Get one of those ASAP. Like they say " life's a beach", but we do live in paradise so it will all be good and the tourist have flown home. Have a good beach run today. ))
Ps. My wife dodged all this mess she's been in Africa since late July due in PC International Monday then she can help deal with this Also.
