Hey, this is my first time apartment searching and I was wondering if you guys knew of any things I should look into when I visit apartments.

I just don't know the secrets into good apartment searching.

I just don't wanna get, you know, screwed.:bang:

We got screwed living at Patrone's. I won't tell you by who, but you have to watch out for some of those people. I guess Patrone's can't hurt you now...since they leveled it.

What does a 1br go for around there? $900 or so?

Oh wow I hope not. I've heard of one-ers going for just under 500 nothing included. But those are small places. I have a piano and some furniture that needs to be shoved in there.

Another problem I'm having is that I need it for May or June and most places around here do leases on an August to August year. I guess I could sublease, but I need to know soon, y'know?

If you find one for $500, take it. I know plenty of mobile homes renting for $750+ per month.

When I was there a couple years ago I lived in Legacy on the Bay in D-town. There's nothing as far as apartments go, and I was working out there, so I lived there. It was like 1200 for a 2-br? And the 1br may have been like 800. Patrone's was like $700 for a Mexican Hideaway. Little ac, bugs, scary things included.

I'm looking for places in Tally.

I found one I really like that's right across the street from FSU campus with Doak Campbell looming over it, which is awesome.

The only problem is it would probably be expensive.

Other than that it's gated, has larger apartments (1br/1bth either 700 or 920 sq feet) and is walking distance to FSU.

I just didn't know if I should keep an eye on any specifics about things inside the complex. For example, the air conditioners. I just learned to look at those cuz the dirty, old ones cost more in electricity and have a greater chance of breaking. I just learned that one. ^_^
