Public Comment Now Open on 2025 Project Priorities

The Okaloosa-Walton Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) is inviting public feedback on its 2025 Transportation Project Priorities—a list of proposed projects that aim to improve mobility, safety, and connectivity throughout Okaloosa and Walton counties.

Each year, the TPO submits its annual list of priorities to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) as part of the regional transportation planning process.

The public comment period is open now through Friday, April 25, 2025.

The virtual open house features an interactive project map, a list of proposed projects, and a link to the survey to gather input on how they should be prioritized based on community needs. Projects range from roadway improvements to safety enhancements, bike/pedestrian connections, and other regional priorities.

• Time: 10:30 a.m.

• Location: Fort Walton Beach Public Library, 185 Miracle Strip Parkway SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548

This hybrid workshop offers an opportunity to ask questions, delve deeper into the projects, and engage directly with TPO staff.

To support participation across the region, a Project Priorities Toolkit is available with ready-to-share materials, including flyers, sample posts, and graphics. Community groups and organizations interested in accessing additional resources can contact marketing@ecrc.org to request access to the Toolkit, which is designed to support outreach during the public comment period.

The Okaloosa-Walton Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) collaborates with local jurisdictions and transportation partners to update and prioritize transportation projects that best meet the region's needs. Public input ensures the process reflects the experiences and concerns of the community.

The final list of 2025 Transportation Project Priorities will be approved by the TPO Board on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
