Hi! I am trying to plan a small & intimate wedding with just family and really close friends for sometime in the beginning of September. I have all of the details together, but I am in need of finding a house that could be used for my reception. We are having an 'elegant BBQ' theme and it will be low key. I would love to find something on the beach where I can have the ceremony and then be able to use the house for the reception. I live in SRB and would love for it to happen at my place, but it is not big enough! I do have a place picked out, but just waiting for the final word on whether or not I can just rent it for one night. I am planning on a small budget and really want this to happen. Does anyone have any ideas? Or can suggest a house that we can rent for one night? Thank you so much!

Thank you, but need something smaller...

Thank you for all of your replies, but I really need something only for about 20-30 people. The houses that Pearly White Properties has on their website are all GREAT and I really wanted to use the Lawn, but the venue is just too pricey and big for what I am planning. Just need a cute house with a pool or that is near the beach...just want a ceremony on the beach and then bring all of the fam and friends back to the house for a BBQ/Beach Party. And I would REALLY love to be able to just rent it one night. In September bookings are LOW, so I am hoping that someone can help me make my dream come true!! Just looking for a memorable evening where everyone can just hang out and have a good time! Very casual and low-key...

It might be helpful if you posted your budget and the date you are looking for. I'm sure you can guess that even if you do manage to rent for one night, it will be much higher than the average nightly rate.

We have a rental house (not what you are looking for) and I cannot accommodate guests for one night ever, just because of the cost to clean the entire house after their departure. When you add the words "barbecue" (red sauce!) and "party" to the equation, the average homeowner starts thinking like this. Extra cleaning will certainly be required. And a sizable deposit is likely to be required as well, since all of your guests may not be so concerned about taking care of the house as you surely are.

So ... be more specific and maybe someone will step up to the plate! I sincerely wish you the best of luck!

I agree with TFT. Also - it doesn't hurt to get in touch with Pearly White on the phone & see if they can work with you in anyway. (unless you have already done that - then I'm not helping....) Good luck!!!

I would agree -- I would charge you far MORE to rent for a night to throw a party. . . .than to rent for the week to vacation.

Have you considered Grayton State park? You could use one of the pavilions. Not a house, but very cheap and you would be gulf front. I assume you have the permit or are aware that a permit is needed for beach weddings?

Consider, too, that even if you could find a house to rent for one night, since check-in is usually around 3:00 p.m., is it really feasible for you to set up and get everything ready for a wedding reception that day?

You might check VRBO.com (vacation rentals by owner). An individual might be more likely to rent to you for one night and for a party than a rental company that has strict rules to abide by.

Good luck!
