Hey Yall,

Quick question. My mom, who lives in Mississippi and has the knack for homemade
jellies and jams that are out of this world, and myself are toying with the idea
of selling her wares down here in SoWal in the 30-A area.
Do you guys think this would be of interest to anyone?
She would have selections like,
Fig Jams
Pear preserves
Strawberry Jam
Blueberry
Blackberry
Apple
Muscadine
Cinnamon Pickles
Apple butter.
And various others.

Any feed back would be appericated!

Have you researched the regulations regarding something like this? Like needing a commercial kitchen etc..I would be curious as to what you discover..good luck whatever you decide! Put me down for fig and blackberry and apple butter if you get it off the ground.
*edit* after reading the below post I must add: I personally don't care if you mix the batches in the bathtub, I'll still take the fig, blackberry, and apple butter. I only say commercial kitchen in case you were wanting commercial success.

My Grandma used to make pear preserves, I sure miss her (and her cookin). I would love to buy some and don't care if it is on the QT. I am sure her kitchen is cleaner than mine. PM me if the goods become available.

Blackberry, plum, peach.

Oh, Cinnamon pickles! LOVE those too! (I really miss Southern cooking)

I'd love to try them personally. I love jams and jellies from the Amish country when we vacationed up in PA. There isn't anywhere to get that kind of food here in this area.

Sounds great to me, my grandmom used to make fig, plum, and berry jellies and preserves when I was a kid. She's still in great shape but long ago decided canning was too much work! I miss the plum the most!

We always stop west of Mobile at a couple of stands and buy jellies, mayhaw has been my favorite down there. Tastes like a tart plum jelly, it's fantastic.

Please let us know if you start selling in the area or online as I'd be interested!

I did read that Seaside has some farmers market on Saturday mornings so I would think you could sell homemade products in that type of setting. Also any type of festival/craft show/etc... with booths should work as well without having to be regulated-it's that way here in Texas anyway.
