Hello all, I believe this is my first post.
I'm planning to relocate to South Walton within the next year and a half or so, & will be coming down for my birthday from May 21st-24th to enjoy the area. I'm also going to be searching for property, and hopefully checking some out. My criteria isn't very picky, & would include anything on the key from Destin through, Miramar, Santa Rosa, West 30A & Central 30A. If the property is north of Highway 98, it would be need to be very close to 98 and and convenient to shops, eateries, etc.
I'm aware that Destin isn't South Walton, but it's almost impossible to not consider it such, and is the extreme west border of my search. I'd love to hear some advice, locations to see, subdivisions that should be on my list, etc. This is not a multi million dollar beach front home search, looking for something under $250k as close to public beach access as possible, with good location to eateries, things to do, US331 [would be a plus], and hopefully no HOA's unless they are reasonable. I would entertain a fixer-upper or home in need of TLC, but prefer to be a part of a development, that is economically sound. So far, one of my favorite areas is "Bayside" in Miramar.
Here is a map for reference:
