I am becoming a disgruntled Obama supporter

On top of some of his decisions rubbing me wrong, I am very unhappy with how my guy Barry has seemingly pissed away an opportunity to shine in his response to the oil spill. The way I feel right this second, I can't say I would vote for him in 2012. So riddle me this-

who do you believe could be running against hIm that is worth considering and why?

Note: I don't consider myself a democrat or a republican so no one is off limits due to party affiliation or lack thereof.

I was going to mention Colin Powell as well. I like him very, very much.

DunAhhhhhh, I agree with you regarding a Governor as opposed to a Senator; 2008 was the anomaly on this in my opinion and if I remember correctly, there was a great deal of discussion regarding this.

For some reason, I am not a fan of Jeb, which I don't think has anything to do with Dad and Big Bro., but of how he handled FL (and, not much of a personality). Sorry.

I, too, cringe when I hear Sarah Palin's accent. JFK's was better......and, there is absolutely nothing wrong at all with a Southern Accent.

Oh sure, let's give another Bush a chance.

What could go wrong?!?

(One definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly, expecting a different outcome)

Let's throw the dice!

The way things are now, I long for the days of Nixon.

I missed that. Thanks.

I find him very interesting. A good mix of private and public service including a significant leadership position.

And MULTI-millions sunk in their seats and said wth.

Ain't it great! We are blessed in this country to vote our hearts. The media has done a hit job on Palin like no other in time. You may want to revisit what she believes and her accomplishments someday. That's important in a candidate for president. Not trash talk from talking heads. She came out of nowhere, she's pretty, smart and has a set bigger than a lot of politicians. I do like that about her. I think one reason they don't like her is because she's pretty, and of course, because she's Republican. Stand her next to Hillary and who are you gonna look at?

I don't think most people needed the media to tell them what to think of Palin. Her pettiness, her sneering, her utter meanness, and her fatuousness did it for most.

...Bobby Jindal is a good man but probably needs more experience...

I think he is going to get more than his fair share of experience dealing with the oil disaster and how bad it is hurting LA...

Oh, come on. Don't you really mean she's a Conservative Christian Republican and that's the most evil being on Earth?

I love you Sam. You are funny as can be.

People vote for president, not vice president. I agree with you about Bobby Jindal.

I vote for both.

No I don't mean that, but that certainly doesn't earn her any points in my book either. Her faith may very well be part of the reason for her general ignorance, I don't know. Jimmy Carter was a man of strong faith and he is brilliant [Martin Luther King too], so I can't generalize on that one. He's certainly not evil.

He certainly couldn't have done worse than Bush.

We will never know the answer to that one.:D

I wish Bobby Jindal would just STFU. He complains the government won't authorize any help yet he has had permission to use 6000 National Guard troops but only chose to use 15% of them. His state's coastline is covered in black goo but he wants to punch more holes in ocean floor not giving a damn that it is affecting wildlife and coastlines in the three states to the east including Florida that doesn't have rigs and doesn't want them. Thousands of businesses, the jobs that go with them and a way of life are being destroyed but his only concern is his state is losing a few jobs on the 1% of rigs affected by the moratorium. You may not like Obama but at least he never ran away from his given name. If a hurricane comes I wish they would stuff Jindal in the hole to plug it till the storm passes.

I think that in good times there's probably a tiny percentage of the voting population that let's the VP candidate affect their choice because if things are going well, why make much of a change.

In bad times (like the last election) or when all of the presidential choices available are dismal (like last time) it probably matters more because if you can't find a reason to vote for either candidate you look to the VP.

That being said, in the last election BIden got a free pass from the media while Palin got a lot of attention.

You didn't read the NPR transcript, I guess. You might want to back away from the talking point buffet you are patronizing regarding the drilling moratorium. You clearly don't understand the economic implications not only for Louisiana, but also for other gulf states and the country, as well.

I sometimes think Obama may choose to be a one term president.

He'll get his legislation passed, take a break from the ever increasing nit-picking, and get to enjoy being a father and husband before his girls go off to college.

I think he might choose to be a one term president because he is making far-sighted choices that will be obviously unpopular in a four year cycle. I can't believe people are ready to throw him under the bus after one and a half years. I didn't hate Bush right off the bat. I was indifferent until he decided to invade Iraq even though most of the country thought it was a mistake.

Me too. From my understanding the moritorium affects about 32 out of the existing 3800 rigs in the gulf. That is less than 1%. I would bet that the fishing and tourism industries affected by this one oil spill would only hope that their industries were affected by less than 1%.
