Call the waaaaaaaaambulance. At least you can complain, if I started a thread complaining about turning 29 I'd be beaten to death. Heck I might just do it, you'll be able to recognize me by the bruises sticky with planter's punch.

You are not an antique, you are like fine wine, that gets better with age.

I remember the thrill when I was allowed, finally, to run off our high school newspaper on the black and white mimeo machine instead of the purple one. And the HOURS it took to get the stencils right before I could start cranking the handle. Manually collating and stapling. Wow. We are OLD.

Remember when Coke bottles were heavy glass and showed signs of wear because they were actually re-used repeatedly? Nickel deposits, wooden casesfor retrning the empties, all that?

Anybody old enough to remember twice-weekly milk delivery, of cold local milk in glass bottles with cardboard and foil tops?

What was your first car? I learned to drive in the longest Electra 225 ever made -- a true land yacht. But the first car I remember riding in, well it's a tie (not too clear on those early dates) between a Studebaker (my grandfather's) and a VW beetle named Clyde. I feel myself fossilizing.

Yes to all of the above. I was at my favorite lunch place yesterday and they were playing 60's hits, I felt like I was back in HS.

Land Yacht, oh my Grandfather had some of those. He had this car, guess it was a Chrysler or Dodge, that had push buttons for shifting. One day he pushed two buttons at the same time and about stripped the transmission. :rotfl:My cousin and I about busted a gut laughing, he was cussing so loud.

I never worry about getting older, beats the alternative. But as I get older it really does get sad at times, due to missing so many loved ones and friends passed on. Never would I have believe how much I could miss someone until I lost my Dad. Those of you lucky enough to have yours still in your life, cherish every moment and never ever put off spending time with them.

As to what car did I first drive, my parents huge Pontiac catalina, 2 door hard top, bright yellow with a black vinyl( rag) top. My parents had it for one month when I got my driver's license and the first week of driving I drove it right through the HS band room, cinder blocks and all and smashed a big drum and a couple of tubas. Needless to say the car did not look so great either. All my Dad said, "was are you all right, the rest can be fixed". Knew right then he was my hero.
