I guess that since motors are allowed, you COULD waterski, but it's such a strange idea/place for it.

Nothing like adding wake to an area full of amateur paddlers and beautiful and delicate nature.

Waterskiing is not prohibited in Western Lake. Just don't hit your head when you fall. I believe the FL Law states that boats are to remain at no wake within 300 ft from shore any shore, which would probably make it nearly impossible to water ski legally, on Western Lake, but I see one open-bow bass boat pulling a tube and a water skier all the time.

There are several that you can legally ski on. Would have to check in with the Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Board. With increased population, though, and consideration to reducing wake and erosion, it would be nice if boaters would self regulate a bit more. A few of the lakes have boats and motors large enough to be sea worthy. A bit much, IMO, and not good for the lakes. With the increased number of boats on a few of the lakes, it is quite dangerous a few weeks of the year.

We skiied in Western Lake all of our lives. It's great!

I thought all coastal lakes are limited to 10 hp motors. The only coastal lake you can legally waterski in is Lake Powell.

Oops. We skiied very slow.

When I said I skiied all of my life...I really meant I haven't skiied in Western Lake in 30 years.
