Anyone heard from JB since last night, when he reported that T-town was going to be hit hard? Just wondering how he fared.

We are still without power here, fortunately the hubster grabbed a generator from his office warehouse, so I can keep track of doings on the SoWal Board.

He's alive. He's posted a couple times this morning.

All is well. We got very, VERY lucky. Dennis de-intensified very rapidly once it got 100 miles inland. We never lost power, which was my biggest fear with a newborn at home. Winds never surpassed 50 mph sustained, which was about 20 mph less than they were predicting.

Thanks for everyone's concern.

I am, however, just sick about the beaches being destroyed once again. Oh well, this too shall pass.

Glad to hear all is well!!!

As for our beaches, well, perhaps Mother Nature will cut us some slack in the near future?

Do you by any chance own a house on 83, about halfway between 30-A and the public beach? I know a lady from Auburn owns that house. Just curious, as I have stayed there a few times

I think that JB is from Defuniak Springs. Were they open yet?
