[FONT="]YOLO Board announces that the first ever YOLO Board Mileage Builder Series debuted on May 28th at the Baytowne Marina in the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. The unique race event consists of a series of four endurance-building races scheduled from May to August: May 28th – one mile course, June 24th – two mile course, July 23rd – three mile course, and August 13th – four mile course. Presented by Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and Sandestin Real Estate, each race event also includes a paddle clinic where participants can learn new racing and paddling techniques from SUP industry leaders.[/FONT][FONT="] [/FONT]
[FONT="]Over 60 paddlers competed in the first installment of the series which included both a Men’s and Women’s Division. YOLO Team Racer Justin Cook and South Walton Beach Safety Director Gary Wise hosted the pre-race clinic. Winners of the one mile course in first, second and third respectively were Justin Cook, Matt Wise and Steve Reeves in the Men’s Division and Jessica D’Aleo, Bernadette Leach and Sarah Langdon in the Women’s Division. Race paddlers vie for the champion title “2011 YOLO Board Mileage Builder Series” to be awarded after the final race in August. Scheduled dates for remaining Mileage Builder races (weather permitting) are June 25th, July 23rd and August 11th. [/FONT]
