Does anyone else remember going to the Kapok Tree Restaurant in the 70? I just searched for it and found a website with photos. My mom and dad looooved going there. The family owned several restaurants at that time, adn we went to all of them over the years..... It gave me such a lump in my throat that I had to sign off it. It flooded me with memories of being about 8 or 10, sitting in a pretty dress at a big, white wrought iron table eating corn fritters with my brother, sisters and parents. What I wouldn't do for a few moments back there to have that safe innocent feeling again.....

I hope to make memories like that for my kids, but I don't want it to be at the Olive Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yikes:

The Kapoc Tree Inn in Clearwater on McMullen Booth Road? I used to live there (Palm Harbor) and ate at the Kapoc a few times in the mid-late 80's. I guess you know by now it is no longer there. The tree still is tho.

I did a little research too to be positive there weren't others in different parts of the state that you might have been thinking of and discovered this thread.

I remember the few times I went it was filled to the brim with folks well over 70 years old. ;-)
