I've heard if you cut a cat's whiskers on one side, they walk around catywhompus. Is that true?

I would never do that to Cowboy, but curious after I found a whisker he had shed.

It's not the whiskers, it's the Gin/Colorado Bulldog/that other one that escapes me.
