I am looking into land line alternatives. I do not want to ditch having a phone in my condo, but would like to cut the cost. I have read the older post on this, but no comments recently. Is anyone using Vonage or Magic Jack? Now you do not need to have a computer to run these. They plug directly into the modem/router and do not interfere with computer use. You are also able to register them for 911 service. Currently paying $30/month for Century Link. Vonage could be $12/month and Magic Jack $30/year. Just trying to gather more info before I make the switch.
