Skills and Requirements Needed:
Education:
Required: High School graduate
Preferred: Technical degree from a Junior College or
College degree in related Field
Experience:
Required: 3 months of CAD experience performing tasks required by this position;
Preferred: 1 year doing CAD work in a survey or engineering company similar to ECA.
Software Knowledge:
AutoCad version 2000, or 2002 or 2004
Softdesk, Land Development Desktop
Potentially other CAD software
Microsoft Windows, (Word and Excel are an asset)
Licenses:
Valid Driver’s license
Skills:
Able to understand customers or office request or instructions quickly, communicate well (spoken or written) with supervisor and report any problems as soon as noticed.
CAD technician may also deal with consulting engineers, inspectors and regulatory bodies and support operations (engineering, survey, and planning) for various projects from the proposal stage through project completion and must be able to handle different type of personalities.
Must be able to understand and interpret engineering drawings and applications as they are applied to various contracts.
CAD Technician must be able to interact with field personnel, communicate problems, concerns with field data, and cooperate with field personnel in order to complete projects.
Needs to be proficient in the production of but not limited to: Boundary and topographic surveys, Computing DTM and contouring, Subdivision Plat production, condominium plat production, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Survey Production.
