Police are praising a local business owner for his quick action that they say prevented a possible train derailment in the downtown area.
Robert Nelson, owner of I Fix Computers, contacted police after noticing a large defect in one of the railroad tracks near Crescent and Baldwin avenues. He took photos of the damage and brought them to police, who immediately contacted CSX for evaluation.
The railroad company quickly dispatched a repair crew to the area to replace the damaged rail.
