Looking for LTR in February...

very high probability that i'll be moving to SoWal in February, looking for a place as close to Sandestin as possible. I stayed off of 30-a at Blue Mtn last summer, I'd love to be that direction but not a requirement. prefer to live alone, and i don't like apartment/condo type dwellings. i was thinking any small house/cottage/cabin, would like a garage if possible, and since it's only me i can only afford under $1000 a month rent. i don't smoke, don't have any pets but would like to look at rescuing a dog once i get there.
any suggestions as to where i should live or if I'm going to have much luck fitting my requirements come February?

My sister has a cottage - she could let you have it for February and possibly March. But at this point, it wouldn't be your long term rental. I will ask her - but I know she will say no to pets.

thanks Nancy, i'll let you know...i find out in the next week or so what my actual itinerary is going to be and what date i will actually arrive in FL. i'm strongly leaning towards the likelihood that my company will be sending me on a househunting preview trip or at least sending me a week or two early to settle in, as well as paying for the moving company, so i'd likely move straight into a more permanent situation. but i'll keep you in mind and appreciate it.

found out official move date is Feb 17th.

looking everywhere as far west as destin, as far north as niceville, and east to port washington/rosemary beach.

well, due to circumstances here in Texas, my move date is now going to be March 2-7th.
anyways, looks like i won't have time to do a preview trip, so instead i'll just have an extra week to get settled before i have to start work.
i've decided i'm definitely going to get a dog, so i'll need something pet friendly. i will also have lots of visiting guests during the summer months so a second bedroom would be great.

so, again, if anyone here has or knows of something available for March, please let me know!
