The local newspaper said they'll be back. It's just too cold for them right now. I look forward to hearing them again. These are the once-in-thirteen-years type of cicadas, so I'll enjoy the sound while I can. I agree, it is sort of intimidating when they swarm.Their song is the sound of summer. We have them around very often - almost all the time it seems - in the woods of Pt Washington. I don't want to see swarms of them though - yikes!

Hubby still has a nasty-looking bite from a yellow fly Saturday afternoon.
