My husband is a "serious" low country cooker and he uses Kielbasa sausage. People seem to like that as much as the shrimp. There are lots of minor variations on this recipe which is also called Frogmore Stew in the South Carolina coastal area. You really can't go wrong with good ingredients. Just be careful that you don't overcook the potatoes and make them mushy. Also, make plenty of homemade cocktail sauce.
