JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for planning, development, and implementation of all of the Organization’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. Oversees development and implementation of support materials and services for chapters in the area of marketing, advertising, creative development, communications and public relations. Directs and communicates goals and efforts with DCWAF team and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the Foundation.

Primary Relationships:

The position reports to the President of DCWAF .

This position participates with the Board of Directors, President and other staff in defining the direction of the Foundation, adhering to its mission and ensuring its effective operation.

Outside the agency, the position coordinates with and is the point person for the Media, Volunteers, and Charities.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Create and implement a creative marketing program that will enhance the Foundation’s image and position, measure the success of said program.
  2. Assist in Vintner/Supplier Acquisition; manager relationships with Distributors.
  3. Establish a system of reports and communications for all information and feedback from the marketing to the rest of the DCWAF management team.
  4. Organize and direct marketing and strategy meetings. Seek input regularly from Foundation’s key constituencies regarding the quality of programs.
  5. Analyze response to online marketing, track call to action growth and the increase of involvement.
  6. Communicate with marketing committee and work together to grow brand awareness and connections.
  7. Assist the Director in media budget analysis.
  8. Develop the annual marketing plan and schedule for the organization; for strategic market planning; market research programs; social media marketing, online media marketing, press releases.
  9. Responsible for editorial design and production. Manage direction and distribution of all publications.
  10. Coordinate Media Interest, attendance, and ensure regular contact with media representatives. Act as the Foundation’s representative with the media.
  11. Create and/or oversee the appearance of all print and electronic materials such as the use of logos, catalogs, branded items etc.
  12. Monitor marketing trends and conduct relevant market research. Keep informed of developments in marketing and public relations fields, non-profit management and governance, and continue to expand wine knowledge.
  13. Demonstrate successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media.
  14. Utilize creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills.
  15. Leads projects as assigned, related to marketing and events, planning, and budgeting.
  16. Assist Fundraising and Event Manager in coordinating, planning and executing all events.
  17. Manage all social media sites: Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter
  18. Manage and grow Blog following.
  19. Schedule and create all E-blasts and newsletters, and track growth, contact lists, and open-rates.
  20. Help formulate and administer policies to support the integrity of the Organization.
  21. Maintain an attitude and drive that motivates and invites top quality personnel and volunteers.
  22. Recruit, train, support develop, promote and guide volunteers and personnel.
  23. Support cross-functional teams throughout Foundation.
