Season packages are now available for the largest series ever of Broadway shows and Artist events to appear at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville. This season’s lineup includes award-winning hits such as “Fiddler On The Roof,” “Menopause The Musical,” “Hair,” “Shrek The Musical,” as well as the National Circus of China in “Cirque Chinois,” the international tour of a Women Of Ireland concert and more.
In addition to Broadway and Artist Series events, a slate of Children’s Series shows will be presented in matinee performances to school groups. Individual tickets are available to Children’s Series shows on a space available basis for $6 each. Shows include “Harry, Dirty Dog” on October 19; “Skippy Jones” on November 5, “Little Engine that Could,” on February 11 and “Give Mouse a Cookie” on April 22, 2013.
The priority window for season packages and group sales is Aug. 1 to 19, when only season or group packages will be sold. Continuing a popular option started last season, patrons may choose their own selection of five or more national shows for a custom season package to receive a 10 percent discount off the ticket price of each show.
A discount of $5 off per ticket is available for groups of 10 or more tickets to a single show if the group sale is made by a single purchaser. To best serve patrons, packages and group sales must be purchased by phone, mail, or in-person from the Box Office only (packages and discounts are not available by web sales). Contact or visit the Box Office between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday to Friday at (850) 729-6000 or toll-free 1-888-838-ARTS (2787).
Individual tickets for all shows go on sale Aug. 20 at www.mattiekellyartscenter.org, phone or in person from the box office. Each of the 12 nationally touring shows appears at 7:30 p.m. for one performance only. Individual tickets are $45 each for Broadway events and $35 each for Artist Series events.
September 26 - Inspired by a hot flash and a bottle of wine, Menopause the Musical is a hilarious musical parody, set to classic tunes from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s, that has audiences all over the world cheering and dancing in the aisles! The show is a certified mega-hit about four women at a lingerie sale with nothing in common but a black lace bra AND memory loss, hot flashes, night sweats, not enough sex, too much sex, and more! The laughter-filled 90-minute production is “the perfect destination for a girls’ treat out” according to the Baltimore Times Herald. Tickets are $45 each.
October 11 - Six of Broadway’s hottest performers and a 5-piece rock band come together in Broadway Rox – a visually amazing production that celebrates the contemporary musicals of Broadway from the pop and rock genres, bridging the gap between traditional Broadway musicals and a full-blown Rock Show! Those familiar with GLEE and SMASH will love the awesome mash-ups of their favorite Broadway songs, from shows like Wicked, Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia, Rent, Rock of Ages, and many more! And, the Northwest Florida State College Soundsations Showchoir takes the stage alongside Broadway’s brightest stars for a New York and Niceville mix! Don’t miss this celebration of youth, energy, humor and great music. Tickets are $35 each.
