Our rental agreement states that at no time can there be more than the stated occupancy maximum. Our house sleeps 5. Does that mean that the two couples we like to invite in to our place while we are there - just for drinks - can't come in because that would mean 6 people?
I understand abuses. We are the opposite. We usually have fewer people staying than the max. Heard people at Seaside this past spring break 'bragging' about sleeping 8 in a place meant for 4, etc. We are 2 with a max of 5.
I don't want to ask the rental agency, because I don't want them throwing us out. I guess it's an escape clause for when people complain about the loud music, drinking, etc. Or people who might have 30 people over for drinks; wedding parties. Or the 'adult' who 'rents' a place for twenty 18 year olds.
Sorry about the rambling. Thinking about this as we approach this trip because we have friends who stay near by, and this is the smallest place we've stayed in since we started doing this.
