Historic Gulf Cemetery will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 29th at 10AM sharp. The 113-year-old cemetery is located at 1466 S County Highway 393 in Santa Rosa Beach.

This service will include a keynote speech by Captain Martha J. LaGuardia. This years ceremony will feature the Civil War Era including musical arrangements from the period. As a matter of fact, three Civil War veterans are interred at the cemetery. Our theme captures the essence of standing united in the cause of freedom--WE is greater than me.

Several of our community organizations will be on hand to assist in the ceremony. Folks are encouraged to bring umbrellas and/or personal lawn chairs. A limited number of folding chairs will be provided.

This ceremony is a wonderful opportunity for the entire family to join in a dignified, respectful, and patriotic tribute to the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom in service to our country in the United States Armed Forces.

Volunteers Needed - Clean-up at the Cemetery MAY 20

We are holding a cleanup day on Saturday, May 20th from 9am to noon. In case of inclement weather, the makeup day will be posted on the webpage (gulfcemetery.org). Please come help us tidy up the cemetery grounds in preparation for our annual Memorial Day Ceremony--you can even bring your favorite lawn tools (i.e., weed eaters, blowers, rakes...). The more the merrier!

Parking is available across the street thanks to our wonderful neighbors at The Chapel at Crosspoint who have so faithfully and graciously allowed us to park there each year for our ceremony.

GULF CEMETERY
Gulf Cemetery traditionally hosts public events twice at year. The first event this year will take place on Memorial Day, May 29th, 2023 and our second is Wreaths Across America, held in mid-December. These are both meaningful opportunities for the public to come visit Gulf Cemetery and remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to America.
