Long a favorite along the 30A beach corridor, Miss Lucille's Gossip Parlor at Gulf Place has expanded to include a beach bar.
Occupying the adjoining former Patchouli's location, Miss Lucille's Beach Bar is serving continental breakfast, lunch sandwiches and beer and wine.
Mimosas or bloody Marys are also available with breakfast.
The expansion and new direction of the Gossip Parlor comes about with its new ownership under Phillip and Sara Markey, who bought it in March.
The Markeys are the owners of the SoHo Woman, Outlet, Beach and Kids stores at Gulf Place.
"We just felt that our shoppers needed a place to grab a bite to eat or refreshment in the plaza that is open and serving all day," explained Phillip Markey.
"We have had a good response," he said.
The renovated space has brightly colored booths as well as an outdoor eating area overlooking County Road 30A and the beach.
Breakfast is served from 8:30 - 11 a.m. daily, with options of cereal, donuts, yogurt, fruit salad, ham, cheese and egg croissants, or sausage, egg and cheese biscuit.
Lunch is served beginning at 11 a.m. with options of a variety of salads, sandwiches, hot dogs, wraps, burgers and chips.
The bar serves beer and wine until around 9 p.m., said Markey.
The original Miss Lucille's space continues in its mission to offer tea and coffee, pastries, ice cream, and up-to-the-minute gossip on a daily basis. Past customers may continue to stop in and trade stories with Bette Wagner, who has been behind the counter since the beginning.
