She is driving me crazy.   Mr. Ibd keeps petting her so she thinks he is her boyfriend :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have a vet that I love but over $250 to get a cat fixed, um no way. Does anyone know of a vet that does not charge so much or a clinic coming up that reduces the price?????

I feel for you IBD....is she howling? That is the worst when a cat is in heat! Good luck, and tell her that Mr. IBD is taken. :D

I seriously don't think the Cat Clinic in Destin charges that much. They will also work with you if you can't afford something. They really helped me out when my cat almost died from a urinary infection.

My cat is in heat too. She is a purebred Ragdoll, but I keep thinking that in the future, we may want kittens. I can't sell them as pedigreed because I can't get her official papers until I prove she's been spayed. But she is so beautiful, I hate to do it. I would love a kitten later down the road. She has the sweetest disposition, purrs all the time, and flops in your arms like a 'ragdoll' is supposed to. She is the epitome of the breed.

We have all the cats in the neighborhood stopping by the back door. It's weird, because she isn't allowed outside. But they sure think they are gonna get a little somthin' somethin'.

If you do breed her, please make sure you've got homes lined up for the kittens beforehand. The entire panhandle is so overrun with surplus kittens, it can be really hard to place them no matter how cute they are.

Looking back at the receipt from Sept 2004 when my Angel was spayed, the procedure itself, including anaesthesia and pain meds, was $95.00. However, I elected for her to have lab work and cardiac screening prior to surgery, and also to have her microchipped while she was under. I ended up writing a check to Barry Veterinary for just short of $200.00.

IBD, if you already have a vet that you know and love, might want to ask him/her what the $250 entails. Quite possibly, it is the pre-surgery screening included, which for us was optional. Otherwise, I can't imagine. :dunno:

I second the Cat Clinic in Destin, however I am also very fond of Dr. Henderson at Village Vet on Stahlman. He saved my cat's life when he was so tiny and sick.

yes the procedure itself is not that much, they just want to do all tests on the cat of which I dont want. This is one of three cats for me this on which was rescued from behind a dumpster. I dont want to sink alot of money into it, just be a responsible pet owner and get her fixed. I am going to call around today....
