We're wanting to add to our landscaping. Are trying to find websites to help us determine some landscape plants that are good for the area and won't require much watering. Need some good ideas from which to choose.

Anyone know of a website :?:

Rita,
Sounds like you need to visit Randy at The Gourd Garden and Curiosity Shop, 850-231-2007, Scenic County Rd. 30-A, Seagrove, FL . He is the expert on native plants, and on occasion, he guides a walking tour through Seaside, high-lighting the native plants. He is a great guy and has an awesome shop with just the plants you need.

Randy sold the Gourd Garden.

What? Another sellout. I saw him scooting down the road in his Scion the other day, and he was smiling. Well, even though he sold, you can ask for Andrew or Kendall, and see if they may be able to help you. They also sell books on native plants.

The Gourd garden is one of my favorite spots. The web site is www.gourdgarden.com. Randy wrote a letter in there as recently as October 2004.

Cheers. GMC

I can recommend www.floridata.com as a great source of information about Florida plants. It's written/hosted by a guy in Tallahassee and he will usually include information about how various plants will do here in north Florida. It's a great site, check it out!

Wow, thanks guys!

I'd already been to the gourd garden site as we have visited there once, and the owners of the nursery where I work (here in TX) spent an hour or so "talking shop" with him a couple summers ago. I couldn't find links to plants from his site though :sosad: (only the hardgood stuff).

I'll check out the sites you suggested. :D
