I will be heading to Grayton Beach in June for our family vacation. I need any golf information I can get (must play, must avoid, etc.) Do any of the courses have discount tee times? Are there discount coupons in the paper or coupon books?
Thanks in advance.

I played Santa Rosa Golf Club and Camp Creek last week.

Santa Rosa was a nice course but I doubt I would play it again. I hated how much brush there was under the trees. If you left the fairway even ten yards the ball was lost. Period. Fun layout and had a nice time but lost a ton of balls - and it wasn't because of water or difficulty, just the unnecessary scrub under the trees lined each and every hole.

We teed off at Noon to get a discounted rate of $69.

Camp Creek, on the other hand, was unreal. I would, and will, play it again. Best course I have ever played and likely ever will. Regular rate is something like $160. I booked pre-paid through golfnow.com for $81 at 11:30 am. Golfnow.com actually seems to own the right to the 11:30 tee time because they offer it every day with pre-pay specials that fluctuate a little from day to day. I watched it everyday for a couple weeks and booked when it dropped from $95 to $81 two days before we wanted to play.

I can't even describe how awesome Camp Creek was. The scenery, the setting, the landscaping, the condition, the design, etc. Unreal. Greens are notoriously impossible to read...and holy cow do I agree. Only course I've ever played where balls break uphill. ;)

Try Origins at Camp Creek also. It's a 10 or 8 hole layout DL3 design. Never crowded perfect fairways and greens. Mainly par 3's but some par 4's. Around $30 makes it one of the best deals around!
