Need recommendations for high-end restaurants in Rome for the CEO that hubby works for. We haven't been in almost ten years (SoWal house replaced Europe for anything but business trips).

We like the Pantheon area for its local ambiance. We loved going to Trattoria del Pantheon da Fortunato there. Favorites were fried zucchini flowers and soft mozzarella cheese balls, an array of pasta including fabulous ravioli, and then grilled turbot and sea bass with a salad - wonderfully simple. After dinner we'd have limonecello and grappa.

We don't like the Via Veneto area. Too many Americans looking for "Eye-Talian" food.

Our recommendations are old because our Italy trips got replaced by SoWal monthly mortgage payments. LOL.

Here is the name of two outstanding Italian Restaurants in Roma. They are from an aquaintance of ours who lives in Roma. Her family has a truly outstanding Italian restaurant in the US, better than any in both New York and St Louis's Little Italy areas.
- Al Bucatino located on Teestaccio in Rome
- Ar Montarozzo located on Via Ardeatina in Rome
They are both where the Italians eat versus tourist traps.
