It is not as easy at it seems... basically why the cable companies quit dropping lines...

For one, the attic is HOT...

Work we do.

Hi,

Handyman Connection has several craftsman that have installed coax cable for TV's in the area.
Give us a call at 622-5262 and we'll set up an appointment for a free estimate. We're licensed, bonded, insured, and we guarantee our work in writing for one year.

My company performs Cable TV outlet installations/relocations concealed within walls and ceilings of existing homes.

Please call MetroPower @ 850-622-4099 to set an appointment.

Make sure that you use a company that holds an electrical or low voltage license, these are the only two classifications that can legally install a low voltage outlet (phone/data/TV) in a residence (other than the homeowner) according to the Walton County Building Department. No permit is required for low voltage wiring "additions" but a license is required to work in Walton County.

Cable providers won't allow their technicians to perform this type of work for several reasons... all are related to potential liability.

My technicians are professionals and do this type of work on a regular basis; safely and in accordance with all codes. It's amazing what you can do with knowledge and the right tools!

Yes, it is VERY hot in attics and dangerous. We take the precaution of only working in confined spaces, such as attics, early in the day to limit the risk.

ME TOO. We need a cable jack relocated. Someone came out and looked and never called back with an estimate.

Seems pretty simple to me. There is attic access as well.

My husband, Alan and I own your local Handyman Connection and we have several craftsmen that have installed coax cable for TV. We are licensed, bonded, fully insured, and we guarantee our work for a full year. We've been servicing this area for over nine years. If you would like a free estimate, give me a call at 622-5262 and I'll set up an appointment for one of our gentlemen to evaluate the work you would like performed.

When did they add the low voltage licensing requirements? I met with Billy Bearden a few years back and he told me that no licenses were required.

I spoke with him this morning by phone... he stated a permit was not required for additions or modifications to existing low voltage systems, other than Fire Alarm, but a license (electrical or low voltage) was required to work on low voltage systems in Walton County . A "Pre-Wiring" permit is required for new installations. This is more or less standard procedure for the municipalities that I've worked in, if it's covered by the National Electrical Code (NEC) a license of some type is required unless you're the homeowner self performing at your house.
