Due to some unforeseen family crises, my family has missed our beach trip 3 years in a row. Just found out we can make a fall/winter trip this year (Oct. 6-13) and are looking for a good spot to stay in this area.
Due to short notice, I am looking at $600 or so for the week. Would like gulf front (3 small kids.....don't like them crossing a street) and a pool nearby. Would book today if the right place is available.
Thanks for your help.

It's not easy finding a gulf front rental with more than one bedroom in your price range. This particular rental sleeps six w/ a pull out sofa and hallway bunks. I've not stayed in this unit but I've stayed in the one next door. Nice area with a pool. No busy streets to cross. Good luck on your search.

I am a big fan of the condos at Cassine Station. These were built in 2006 - everything is brand new and top notch. The condos are on the north side of 30-A right across from One Seagrove Place. These condos are not gulf front - just walk across the street directly to the beach. There is very little traffic in October, and we had no trouble controlling our four hyper kids across the street multiple times. There is a community pool right across the condo parking lot and another in the subdivision.

Here are a couple of links to places I have stayed...

http://www.vrbo.com/101158 - 2 br/ 2 ba + bunk room; sleeps 8; about 1350 sq. ft. Bonnie is the owner and I think she is renting at $150/day after 8/4. (I think she is also doing a "stay 4 nights, get 5th free" deal after 10/1.)

http://www.vrbo.com/87176 - 1 br/ 1.5 ba + hall bunks; sleeps 6; about 730 sq. ft. Hannah is the owner and I think she is renting at $115/day after 8/7.

Both of these condos are awesome! If you contact them, let them know that John LeBoeuf sent you. (Maybe I'll get a fruit basket or something out of it!!!)

Good luck!

We spend the winter in Seahaunts 5c in santa Rosa beach. Go to the rentals sections on this site and you wil find it. It's a great clean condo, location is wonderful and has a terrific view. There is a large courtyard where your children can play and be safe. No street to cross to get to the beach, just walk on over (a very short walk, right on the property) to one of the 3 stairways to the beach. Also a beautiful(and very, very clean ) pool and hot tub that is shared with the next door condo, also just steps from this lovely
condo. The unit has been re-decorated again this spring and has very comfortable beds and seating. Owners are very accommodating and eager to please. I highly rec it. Rates-, well ck. with the owners---
