He most likely is a local full-time resident who supports local businesses and has his kids in the local schools. He has also employed many other local residents who are now also struggling financially.
Your above statement is not even remotely funny.
Sure, there are "mobile" homes, but even those don't move around much and they are not classified as "houses."
I agree that joking about tough times for people isn't funny, never has been and never will be.
I notice that some of the vacant new homes near us appear to have been rented. How is the rental market (for long-term rentals) holding up? I see the ads in the Sun, and the prices seem healthy - is this the case?
