Recently released, the Author, who resides in Walton County is a highly decorated Dustoff Medic from the Vietnam war, who served with the 82 Dustoff from 1967, to 1968. NOT JUST A BOOK, this novel is an intense read that transports the reader to the rice paddies and the miraculous medical extractions of combat wounded while under fire. The book deals with the tradgegy, the anguish and comedy that many used to conceal their feelings as fellow medics and crew chiefs dropped like flies.
This book answers the questions you asked about Vietnam, but never got an answer for. Coming home was not something many troops looked forward to and some of those never did. They lay homeless in our streets, believing themselves to have been "pariahs" within our society.
