Seen it? Thoughts? I caught a brief glimpse in the pre-6:00 AM light today. Not sure what I think yet. I know they are desperate to shunt humanity into the complex, but my first thought was that it was kinda ugly. Someone needs to post a picture.

I have to take a look next time I am out that way. I usually have my trusty camera with me so I'll take a pic.

Clean up the overgrowth

a bit ugly, but who are we to think its up to us what their sign looks like?
Redfish needs to cut down some of the overgrowth, I love trees but it just is not right if you expect businesses to come into the Village

I think it looks very nice. I do not need to see every business I frequent from the road. I think a little mystery makes people drive through and take a look. It's obvious there are businesses in there. The problem is the high prices of real estate for the property, not trees. Nothing in SoWal will thrive again untile the ridiculous cost of commercial property drops.

ps - if you really love trees you will take care of them and plant them, not kill them. What trees naturally do (grow) is not "overgrowth".

Not only is this true, but Red Fish Village is restricted from destroying the vegetation buffer required in their development order.
One of our goals in Blue Mountain Beach is to preserve as much of our natural vegetation as we can, not remove it.

Abrogate your own rights and leave mine alone. I have not seen this sign in question but you say that whatever the sign is it is none of my business. There are rules about what can be erected and if there were no rules about what can be erected then there would be no rules about what can be torn down. Do you want a billboard featuring exposed boobies put up in the right of way by your mailbox? If you do then you can have mine as the city made me take it down.

Please don't go encouraging developers to clear cut properties! As Andy A stated, thankfully, the Comp Plan protects that greenery from being cleared. I guess some people like that look of Prominence, which was clear cut and now looks like @ss.

:bang: I LOVE trees and vegetation, but If you knew anything about a successful business, location is important and being able to find a business means everything. Maybe you don't need to see it as you drive by, but the visitors who spend the money that keeps this economy afloat need to. People just ride right by Redfish Village, thinking its a Hotel or just Condos. PJ's Coffee, Lee's Famous Chicken, Seerings Restaurant and H2O Real Estate pulled out in the last 3-12 months. Pruning and trimming, are those 2 words in your vocabulary?

I agree that Commercial prices for that property are killing any chance for the best of businesses to survive, let alone thrive. The developer would rather sit on empty space then get it down to affordable prices or rent. Build it and they will come? I DON'T THINK SO!!

:bang:You don't know the words prune and trim either. Ask the businesses at Redfish Village who lost hundres of thousands of dollars what they asked for and nothing was done to help with a little visibility!!!
