The Office of the State Attorney announced last night that it has completed its review regarding allegations that the Walton County Planning Commission violated Florida Government in the Sunshine Law.
Allegations were raised that members of the board, either directly or indirectly or through an intermediary, discussed whether Suzanne Harris should be removed from the Commission for missing multiple meetings. This was a matter that was likely to come before the Commission and, in fact, was placed on a Commission Agenda for discussion.
In a letter to Walton County Attorney Mark Davis, Chief Assistant State Attorney Gregory A. Marcille said, “There is insufficient evidence to establish that any conversation occurred between Commission members or that any back and forth communication took place through a third party. For these reasons, no further action will be taken regarding this matter.”
