Boehner surprise: Dems barely get votes to adjourn after floor speech - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room

"House Democrats on Wednesday barely won a 210-209 vote to adjourn the House without extending the Bush tax cuts..."

It looks like the House has no more pesky time constraints (like work) ahead of it. We are looking at 30+ days of full on crazy!
.....uh,just another example of why this democrat cotrolled congress has the lowest approval numbers of all time.....November cannot come fast enough.

Keep dreaming that increased taxes will go toward debt. What a joke! You must think the stimulus worked.

Official and independent budget estimates show that letting tax rates spring back to pre-Bush levels for all taxpayers would bring the country within striking distance of meeting President Obama's goal of balancing the budget, excluding interest payments on the debt, by 2015.

But for all the election-year hand-wringing about deficits, no one in Washington is talking about letting the tax cuts lapse on schedule in January. Instead, Senate Republicans have offered a measure that would extend all the cuts, adding nearly $4 trillion to the debt over the next decade. This week, Senate Democrats say they plan to unveil a bill that would preserve most of the cuts for most Americans. That would add nearly $2 trillion to deficits by 2020.

The problem isn't the income it's the spending. You can actually make more money by taxing less. It works. Our President just wasted a trillion dollars and now you're concerned about the deficit? Really?

I say tax those that make over $250,000 per year at the same level as in the 1990's under Clinton--rich folk don't create JOBS with their glutony....they only create jobs for the Portuguese and Dutch, since yacht building is now outsourced overseas.

Right here!

I think we should increase taxes for those who make less than $250,000 a year. The revenue generated would be substantial compared to your proposal. Why tax the top 5% when you can tax the bottom 95%? They'll get it all back in federal services anyway.
