Is it ridiculous to ask for a gulf front unit in October for $700ish? It will be 2 adults, and two young kids. It may well be a ridiculous request, but I have to ask.

Gulf Front....meaning the unit has nothing in front of it but a view of the ocean? Versus the property being Gulf Front but your unit is third row back with a "glimpse" of the Gulf. Also, consider the location...Seagrove, Seaside, Alys, etc..., $$$. Did you try Blue Mountain beach? Look at units in Sea Bluff, two bedroom condos. Or try Gulf Place. Both have drawbacks. Sea Bluff has a HUGE walk down to the water (the steps are like doing a StairMaster), Gulf Place is a spit on the northside of 30-A but with great access to Ed Walline park (nice green space for the kids to play if you have kids).

October is perhaps the best time of the year to visit. Weather is beautiful, gulf still is relatively warm and generally kids are in school so it is not that crowded. That being said it is also known as Owners Month because there are a lot of HOA's holding their annual meetings during October, so selection is somewhat restricted. Good luck on your search - try Capistrano Condos in Seacrest. Small (9 units),Gulf-front two and three BR's with a large grassy area on the gulf-side for kids to play.
