My husband and I received our first box of fresh, organic, local produce delivered from Off The Vine to our front door this week. Let me say it was the first of many more to come. Being first timers, we didn't know what we were in for so it was like Christmas opening that big waxy box and finding beautiful lettuces, melons, heirloom tomatoes, sugar snap peas (we ate them right out of the bag they were so good), peaches, blueberries, oranges, and swiss chard. Everything tastes and smells wonderful.
We first thought it was a good idea for rotating produce through for more variety, planning our weekly meals around the produce that is available, and hopefully have less waste. The box even had a couple of recipes in it.
They offer options for small, medium and large boxes and Shana offered me some options on sharing orders with my neighbor or changing orders on line Monday mornings.
Check them out at www.offthevineproduce.com There are more recipies and lots of options for ordering other stuff too.
