Organic food markets

I know this probably has been mentioned on here at some point in the past but I have gone on a gluten free/wheat free diet and have seen major improvement. We have a store here locally that carries many gluten free/wheat free products, organic foods, vegetable fed beef, lactose free and soy milks, etc.

I'm wondering if there is any place like that down around Sowal anywhere between PC Beach and Destin that we could go to if I am still limiting myself to foods without these ingredients. I chose an elimination process diet to see what might be causing all of my gastro problems other than my flareups of my colitis.

The first thing I stopped using seemed to help immensely. I wasn't wanting to have to leave out my dairy products, luckily I haven't had to. I know of one person I think on this board that has this type of problem with gluten. Thanks.

First place I'd try is For The Health Of It in Blue Mountain Beach.

Publix has a pretty good soy milk selection and some gluten-free breads in the freezer section. (or at least their Destin store does)

Please re-think soy milk, or if you do continue to drink it, drink a brand that uses only non-gmo soybeans. While Ezekiel's line of breads are not specifically gluten free, because they are made with sprouted grains and not flour, they are fine for most mildly gluten sensitive folks. If you stay with dairy, please consider organic, which the Horizon brand may or may not be: Horizon Organic Milk is Not so "Organic" After All - Associated Content

All Boar's Head meats and cheeses are gluten free.

Thanks Rachel, I will make sure I visit your store when we come down. It sounds like your store has many of the same products our Whole Foods Market has. How far is your store from Inlet Beach, we stay off of Hwy 98 across from the Spicy Noodle. Thanks.

We look forward to serving you when you arrive. From Inlet Beach we are about 12 miles or so. The easiest way would be to come West on 98 to CR 83, the first left road past Hwy 331. Take a left and go to CR 30A. Take a right on 30A up the hill and we are the first Commercial building on the left (Highpoint Center) . If you have the time for the scenic route, take the east end of 30A through Rosemary, Seagrove, Seaside, Water Color, Grayton and then to us in Blue Mountain. There are a wide variety of local shops, restaurants, and sights to see.

For some treats, Amavida coffee in Seaside has some gluten free stuff including cookies and the juice bar accross the street has great organic and gluten free options. I also heard that Pizza by the Sea has a gluten free crust option.

For the Health of it will be your best bet. Not only do they carry all the products you will need but they are a hands on operation and can give you one on one advice as you may need it.
