From Money Magazine, Panama City and Lynn Haven are at the top of the list for expected growth with an expected increase in home values of 21%. Ft Walton Beach/Destin/Crestview is expected to increase only .7%

I would guess 30A falls closer to the Destin forecast? Seems like a big gap between two areas only 60 miles apart although it seems PC has not gained nearly as much in recent history. Maybe just catching up...

This article is not referring to Panama City Beach, which is another town from Panama City/Lynn Haven. While 30A is very close proximity to Destin, we are not in the same ballbark.

I think Money's list sort of focuses on smaller towns or outlying areas near former boom towns. Look at Lakeland (between Orlando and Tampa) for example, which is also on that list. Room for growth there. Not so much room for growth in Tampa however. 30-A is such a unique market that I don't think it can really be included in any standard lists. But I guess projected growth in Panama City has something to do with all the development in the Panhandle, and how prices there have a bit of catching up to do. Or at least that's the theory. :dunno:

30A wouldn't fall into this analysis by Money. Their list includes only Census defined Metropolitan and Micropolitan areas (clusters of counties). Unfortunately Walton County is not a part of any of these. It falls in beween Panama City/Lynn Haven (including PC Beach) and Ft. Walton Beach/Destin.

...which makes this interesting because 30A is flanked by two very diverse projections
